If your a fan of the paleo diet, like myself then you are probably a little fed up with eggs for breakfast. Now don’t get me wrong I love eggs, but there are only so many I can eat in a week. It’s nice to have a change, and since oats are a big no-no on the paleo diet, this banana nut porridge recipe makes a great alternative to oatmeal.
Banana nut porridge is a great paleo diet recipe for those who either can’t or don’t eat oatmeal. Porridge usually uses grains such as wheat or oatmeal, which no good for those on a paleo or grain free diet. But, this grain-free banana nut porridge has a very close texture and flavor, with a the added sweetness of the banana and cinnamon. You must try it!
Paleo Banana Nut Porridge
Nutrition Facts
Ingredients
- 2-3 ripe banana’s
- ¼ cup almonds
- ¼ cup cashews
- ¼ cup pecans
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 1-2 tsp. cinnamon
- pinch of salt
Instructions
Add all the ingredients to a blender or food processor and blend for 30-40 seconds on high.
Serve in bowls and top with some raisins and pecans (optional).
NOTE: If you want to make this recipe smoother simply soak the nuts overnight in some water with a pinch of salt.
