Oriental Style Meatballs


This recipe makes 6 servings

  • 16 oz. lean ground beef
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 tbsp. oats
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • ½ cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 cup red pepper, chopped
  • 1 cup yellow pepper, chopped
  • 2 cups mushrooms, chopped
  • 1 cup onions, chopped
  • Salt and pepper


  1. In a large mixing bowl combine beef, 2 tablespoons of the chopped onions, egg whites, salt, pepper, garlic, oats, 1 tablespoon of olive oil and a ¼ cup of water. Using your hands from into bite-sized meatballs and set aside.
  2. Place a non-stick skillet over a medium heat coat with the rest of the olive oil. Addonions, mushrooms and peppers. Sauté until the veggies are tender. Once done remove veggies from the pan and set aside.
  3. Leave the remaining oil/juices in the pan and add meatballs. Cook for 5 minutes until they have cooked through and no longer pink inside.
  4. Add soy sauce, beef broth and cooked veggies to the skillet cook for another 4-5 minutes. Serve and enjoy!
